I want to be able to teach Jude sign language because it will help him communicate with me. https://www.babysigns.com/
There are really cute videos of babies signing on youtube.
I think I saw one little crawl this morning. I’m keeping the camera handy for when he does it again, so all you can see with me. I haven’t really seen him sit up with my own eyes, but I’ve turned away while he was laying down, and when I looked back, he was sitting up – so I know he does.
Hank had a meeting with Jonah’s teacher yesterday, and she said that he’s a sweet boy that she never has to get onto. Good job Jonah! He swears that he wants to be a chef when he grows up, and he loves to help out in the kitchen. Many times, when I think he’s going to be watching cartoons, I walk in his room to discover he’s watching Bobby Flay, Emeril Lagasse, or anything else on the Food Network. One of his other favorite things to do though, is show everyone what Lego thing he’s built. People ask him, are you going to be an engineer when you grow up? And he always shakes is head and furrows his brow and says, “no, I’m going to be a chef.” We don’t discourage him, even though we all know, he probably won’t be a millionaire if he goes that route. I want to encourage whatever they want to be. Then again, I can remember telling my mom that I wanted to be a maid. Little did I know, my dreams would come true…cleaning up after four boys all day! No, I’m only kidding.
I think for a treat this holiday season, we’re going to go to the Woodfire Grill, and meet Kevin Gillespie, the chef that we’ve all watched compete in Top Chef this season. I’m so in love with him, but Hank’s not jealous. With his pointing nose, chubby cheeks, and heavy eyelids, he looks like he could be one of the Sutton clan, and he has a heart as big as China. I almost cried when he didn’t win. He was in the top three, and his momma was soooo sweet. He made her fried chicken skin. Talk about representing the south. Did I mention that I’m in love?

He may not become a milliomaire, but being happy in your work has great value. Plus it seems with Jude he is going to need a bigger variety of foods, beyond Beans & Taters.
I just read about jonah and tell him if this is truly what he wants to do that his crazy aunt will set him up right! Bravo, go Jonah! mOm says she can’t wait to taste his signature dishes and wants to know if Jude needs a speedometer? love mom and dana
Jonah has yet to prepare his signature dish. He knows how to chop up garlic and cilantro, and he loves to put lime on tortilla chips. We’re teaching him how to make spagetti this week, but it’s still hard for him to reach the stove. We have him a little step stool, but I think once he’s taller, he’ll pick up more recipes.
Jude needs bumpers before he needs a speedometer…I’ve had to come up with multiple means of cheering him up once he’s bumped his little noggin’. Again, it’s so wonderful to stay connected with you guys over the internet, and kiss and hug Gabby for all of us!
We’ll see you on Christmas,
Love,
Jill
