The Awful Waffle

Again, I want to thank Daddy for the new camera.  I take it everywhere with me. Here’s a shot of it and me while we waited for Hank to pay to get his car repaired.  Yes, it is hot pink.  Being the only girl in the house means nobody else will try to steal it for themselves.

Since we had to pick up the car and didn’t have time to get home before we all got HANGRY (per Kendra -that’s hungry/angry).  We went to the Waffle House.  Anyone who’s ever lived in the south knows the wonders of the Waffle.

Jude’s been several times.  We had eggs, cheese, and hashbrowns, while Jude had a bottle and some greenbeans.

Even though there are 14 Meals under $5 (the poster in the background), we love it not just because it’s cheap.  Jude gives it a thumbs up:

Fall is the Best Season of the Year

Atlanta’s weather has been either too hot or too rainy for him to thoroughly enjoy the outdoors like we did today.

I’ve been wanting to take pictures of the building where we live so that Jude would know where we lived when he was born, and today was actually nice enough to not roast whenever you stand in the sun:

Needless to say, it was a good day.

Solid Foods

He gags when you give him peas.  Literally, gags…like he’s going to puke.  BUT he’s completely okay with green beans.

Here’s a picture of him trying to get more green beans.

And this is what it looks like when he “chews.”

He still loves his bottle.  I like to call this picture “eat your heart out Grandma.”

Back in Business

THANKS to Dad, we have a new camera! It’s awesome.

In news this week, Jude spent a ton of time with Grandma. We don’t have pictures though.

BUT he sits up on his own now!

And we’re almost ready for Halloween.  Zan’s costume is going to be a spacesuit.  We still have to finish the helmut.

Baby Shower

Have I posted anything about my baby shower?  I don’t think that I’ve made it back that far, and I used to think that I was going to try things chronologically, but that’s too hard so I’m just going to reminesce on here sometimes.

Elizabeth McGinnis threw me a baby shower.  Through our ups and downs, we have a fair share of memories…

from when I was in her wedding (she looked amazing):

from her baby shower, and when she had baby Noah (I can’t believe he’s two now):

to my baby shower (again, that she threw for me):

and when I had Jude:

It’s super crazy when you think about it in terms of all that.

Thanks Elizabeth, and all the wonderful girls who came out that day and gave me so much wonderful stuff!

Did I mention that Katie looked especially great (hope you’re feeling good soon girl). Whoa that belly is HUGE.

Sleeping Through the NIGHT

Alright people, for the past week, we’ve had a couple of nights of terror, BUT it’s paid off because he sleeps from 9:30pm to 6:00am!  You heard right.  We’re sleeping through the night!  Just don’t even look at me in this video.  It was taken with my webcam on my computer.

I had to do what the doctor said and stop feeding him at 1am and 4am, but I didn’t do as she suggested and just let him cry.  I gave him a pacifier, and if that didn’t work, I would pick him up and rock him a little.  With time, he didn’t want those bottles anymore, and he acts so much happier during the day now that he’s had a good nights sleep.

She’s going to be out of the hospital soon, but I won’t post again until this weekend.

Lots of love in the meantime.

Brothers and Sisters

Me and Jerm

Jeremy and I spent countless hours of our lives together, and yet, at times are an enigma to one another. Other girlfriends of mine who didn’t have brothers seemed to be missing a simple understanding of the opposite sex- and that is- they don’t really care if that dress makes you look fat, and they forgive quickly and then never want to talk about whatever that was again.

The Dukes of Hazard and Transformers were forced upon me, and I’ll never forgive him for hitting me in the head, literally, thousands of times with an empty two-liter, coca-cola bottle one summer. The echo-y thump of plastic and my skull bringing him so much joy.

Life would be absolutely tragic without him.
